Maria was a single mother with seven children. They were living in a hotel room in Kissimmee and driving to Orlando for school twice a day when Theresa met them. She sensed that there was more to their story.

Theresa took the time to build trust with Maria and soon discovered that she was fleeing domestic violence.

Theresa and the Pathways to Home team were able to find housing for Maria and her children much closer to their school. And she quickly connected them with the mental health resources they needed to heal.

RISE Community Solutions aims to restore hope, dignity, and a sense of security, empowering individuals to build their self-sufficiency and lead fulfilling lives. Pathways to Home is just one of our core programs, helping families with children who are experiencing homelessness to obtain and maintain stable housing through strengths-based care, housing search assistance, financial literacy and employment training, and needs-based financial assistance. We served 119 families and 289 children in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties just last year.

What Maria needed most was for someone to believe in her; she found that in Theresa. And she graduated from the Pathways to Home program with restored stability for her family.

Her story is a testament to the profound impact of your support. We cannot RESTORE individuals and families facing setbacks without you.

Thank you for helping us RISE together!
