We are thrilled to announce LaVell Monger as the recipient of the New Generation Award at this year’s RISE Together event! LaVell’s journey exemplifies the kind of transformative leadership that makes a lasting impact on both individuals and communities.

LaVell moved to Central Florida in 2018 with a vision and a deep passion for community work. His background - shaped by his parents and grandparents - instilled in him a commitment to building meaningful relationships while helping others succeed. Since arriving, LaVell has demonstrated a unique blend of business acumen and service-oriented leadership. As the co-owner of RTW Photography, a Black-owned multimedia company, he has not only created a thriving business but has also generously invested over $100,000 in pro-bono services for nonprofits, small businesses, and students in need.

His impact stretches far beyond the confines of his business. LaVell serves on multiple boards, including as the board chair of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, the first Black Chair in its history. He is also an executive board member of The Education Foundation of Osceola County and a committed advocate for local youth. Through initiatives like “Faces of the Future” and “We Are Osceola,” LaVell has elevated diverse voices and showcased the power of community through storytelling and photography.

LaVell’s leadership style is grounded in his belief that true success lies in lifting others up. Whether mentoring first-generation college students, guiding young professionals in the creative arts, or inspiring the next generation of leaders, he brings his authenticity and heart to every role he takes on. His mission is clear: to open doors for others, creating platforms for equity and progress.

With his deep commitment to service, resilience in the face of challenges, and unwavering belief in shared success, LaVell has shown us all that leadership is about more than just influence - it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations, LaVell, for being a true trailblazer and for receiving the well-deserved New Generation Award! Your work continues to inspire and remind us that we all have the power to create lasting change when we lead with purpose and passion.
